Project 13c: The New Building-The Barn

Once the panels were in place, and the doors and windows made it weatherproof, the panel crew disappeared back to the middle of Maine and my final group of carpenters arrived to 'take me home', Harrington Construction and Development. If you're looking for a referral, this is the one! After all the trials and tribulations of working with GCs and crews with less than adequate ability and less than acceptable integrity, at last, the GC and crew of my dreams!

Their first step on the Homer Barn was to get the "Autumn Red" Certainteed fiber cement siding on. This siding was the same 'clapboard' width as the white siding on the farmhouse, but it was wood-grain and deep barn red. All of a sudden, the Homer barn begins to look like a barn!

The men were amazing! They worked right through a major snowstorm to get the front of the Homer Barn complete. Now, that's a crew and that's a barn!

Looks gorgeous...even in the snow!

And now, the back of the barn...a triple level siding job!

And here how she looks from her sister building, the Cape.
