1. Thursday, March 25 at The Frontier Cafe in Brunswick

This Thursday, there is a reception for Philip Hoose, Winner of the National Book Award at the Frontier Cafe!! Maine Writers Alliance invites everyone to celebrate this accomplishment.  MWPA is hosting a FREE reading and discussion by Phil Hoose himself, preceded by a ticketed reception at a cost of $25.  (Phil wants the reception profits to fund scholarships for the Fall Writing Retreat which will be at Linekin Bay Resort in Boothbay Harbor.) 

• Reception begins at 6 PM and includes beer, wine, and light refreshments.
• Reading and discussion begins at 7 PM.
• Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door by contacting The Frontier Cafe.

2.  Wednesday, July 7 
5 to 7 pm
A Conversation with Roxana Robinson , Author of Cost. Winner of the Maine Writers Alliance 2009 Book Award
Cash bar, complimentary hors d'heouvres
Request for donations to the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library
The Resort will be offering a specially priced dinner after the program.

3.  Thursday, July 8
1130 am to 1 pm
Luncheon Discussion with Roxana Robinson, Author of Georgia O'Keeffe, A Life
There will be a price for the lunch-part of the price will go to the Library.
Please consider buying both of these books and then donating them to the library of your choice. Roxana is not charging a fee to do these two events.

4. Thursday, July 8 is the opening day of the Children's Garden at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, which is designed around Maine classic children's books

5. Saturday, July 10 is the Book Fair at the Railway Village with 40 (??) Maine writers.

7. Melissa and Susan M.  have discussed having a Gourmet Book Club Yard Sale at the Bold Colorful Life Inn and Retreat Center in the Spring (May) with all of the money going to one or two causes of our choice. We'd have the usual Swap Night the night before, where we bring our goodies and swap at will, then the remainder will be offered in the Yard Sale the next day.
